As I installed the Quickstart package, I’d like to replace the photos on the examples with mine, but I’d like to know if I have to resize them or will they be automatically re-dimensioned?

Are you talking about the slider ? The image resized automatically by Unite slider, please give a try 🙂
Imagine that the image layout assigned as background with “cover” mode for background size 🙂
